Reset Bobcat Miner 300
Think of it as a system reset. As a result, the Docker process will be stopped, the Miner and log files will be deleted, and the Helium Miner software will also be removed. After downloading the most recent version of the Miner software, the Docker and Miner processes will then be restarted.
You’ll be back up and running in 30 minutes thanks to the fact that the steps are much simpler than you anticipate.
Run a diagnostic
Diagnostic Report: Running a diagnostic is simple. Simply open the Helium App on your phone, select your miner, “PAIR”, and then run a diagnostic. The step 1-3 show you how to run a diagnostic on the Helium App.
- Step 1: By inserting a pin into the Bluetooth button on the device’s back, you can Bluetoothly pair your phone with your Bobcat.
- Step 2: Once the light turns blue, select the miner in your Helium App (on your phone) and hit the blue “PAIR” button. Then, Run a “Diagnostic“
- Step 3: Your Outbound/Inbound, Sync status, and other crucial details about your Bobcat will be reported by the Diagnostic. Reset the miner if any, all, or none of those are grayed out.
At the bottom of the Diagnostic report, note the IP address of your router.
Reset Bobcat Miner 300
- Step 4: Open a web browser on a computer sharing the same network as your Bobcat miner. Enter the IP address from Step 3 here.
- Step 5: A username and password are necessary for this step.
Username: bobcat Password: miner
A webpage will launch once you enter the IP address into a web browser. This is your Bobcat miner’s user interface.
Near the top you should be able to see whether the device is “Synched” or not, and just below that you might see “Miner (5s)” in red. Just make a note of these things.
Scroll down to “Reset Miner” and select this option.
You will be prompted to type in “I Agree” to start the reset. Important. (remember the username and password from the beginning of this step, they’ll come in handy at this point)
Wait the full five minutes, even if it only takes three, after the reset has begun. Start a timer!
Your gadget will restart. The Bobcat led light will turn yellow and when completed it will turn back to green.
**If the process takes longer than five minutes, do not be alarmed; this can occasionally happen.
- Step 6: when the five minutes are up and the light is green. Similar to Step 1, open the Helium app on your phone and pair your miner via bluetooth.
Make sure Outbound/Inbound and Sync are still working. Ideally, they are all green, but if they are not, do not panic.
- Step 7: Enter the IP address in the web browser once more.
This time the first line should now report “Syncing”, followed by a “GAP” number.
You are currently waiting to be synched. You should proceed to steps 8 and 9 if this number is greater than 400 (you’ll frequently see one that is well over 10,000).
- Step 8: In the web browser, find “Choosing Fast Sync (Alpha). This starts a 30-minute process; wait the full 30 minutes, set a timer, and then do nothing.
*Use the username and password you created in Step 5 if you are required to.
- Step 9: Re-pair your Bluetooth connection with your bobcat using your phone’s Helium App after 30 minutes. You should see everything completely back to normal (Outbound/Inbound/Sync)
Trust the process and wait 12 to 24 hours if something is not reporting as usual before drawing any conclusions. Sometimes (and frequently, actually), the Helium App and the Helium Explorer may be delayed.
Within a few hours, your earnings will begin to increase again, and within a day, you should be earning as usual. The theory behind these steps should help you with other miners if you have ones other than Bobcat miners.
